Week 6 – Passing & Receiving
Module: Master The Ball: 1-11 Years Old Classroom: Use The 360TFT Game Model Original Location: https://www.skool.com/football-coaching-academy-5676/classroom
Session Focus
Movement After the Pass
This week is about getting players to stay active after the pass. Young players often see passing as a finish line — we want to flip that idea. The goal is for every pass to trigger the next action: movement, support, scanning.
For younger players (1–6), we emphasise following their pass and understanding basic space. For older players (7–11), we stretch that into more advanced ideas like angle of support, first touch direction, and third-man movement.
Structure & Flow of Session
1. Ball Mastery Warm-Up (10 mins)
Age 1-6: Basic passing exercises with fun themes Age 7-11: More complex passing patterns with increased tempo
2. Contextual Game Scenario (15 mins)
Age 1-6: Simple passing games encouraging movement after the pass Age 7-11: Passing exercises with support angles and third-man runs
3. Small Sided Game (15 mins)
Age 1-6: Fun games encouraging passing and moving Age 7-11: Conditioned games rewarding movement after passes
4. Match-Related Play (15–20 mins)
Age 1-6: Free play with minimal rules Age 7-11: Small-sided matches with passing and movement focus
Why This Structure Works
- Links a basic technical action (passing) with decision-based next steps
- Builds habits that support team play, not just individual execution
- Encourages players to think beyond the ball — to move, support, and combine
