Module: Master The Opponent: 7-12 Years Old Classroom: Use The 360TFT Game Model Original Location: https://www.skool.com/coachingacademy/classroom/62d426ee
Session Focus
1v1 Attacking
Developing confidence and skill to beat opponents in 1v1 situations. This week focuses on taking players on with purpose - using feints, changes of pace, and creativity to unbalance defenders. Players learn when to dribble, how to attack space, and the mentality required to be a threat in individual duels.
Building the technical skills and mindset to win 1v1 attacking situations.
Structure & Flow of Session
1. Ball Mastery Warm-Up (10 mins)
1v1 Feint Practice
Players practice feints and moves against passive then semi-active partners. Focus on body movement, change of pace, and selling the fake.
- Start with shadow practice
- Progress to partner mirroring
- Finish with semi-active defender
Coach Prompts:
- “What does your body need to do to sell the move?”
- “When do you accelerate away?”
- “Can you use the same move both directions?”
2. Contextual Game Scenario (15 mins)
1v1 to Goal
Individual duels where attacker must beat defender and score. Vary starting positions, distances, and angles.
- Attacker starts with the ball
- Defender recovers from various positions
- Reward successful dribbles AND finishes
Coach Prompts:
- “Did you commit the defender before making your move?”
- “Which way did the defender’s hips point?”
- “What’s your plan if the first move doesn’t work?”
3. Small Sided Game (15 mins)
1v1 Channel Game
SSG with 1v1 duels in channels. Players must beat their direct opponent before playing into central zone.
- Wide players in 1v1 duels
- Must beat opponent to cross/combine
- Rotate roles regularly
Coach Prompts:
- “Are you taking on your opponent with purpose?”
- “Can you use the sideline to your advantage?”
- “When do you decide to dribble vs combine?”
4. Match-Related Play (15-20 mins)
4v4 with 1v1 Bonus
SSG where teams earn bonus points for successful 1v1 dribbles that beat an opponent. Encourages taking players on.
- Extra point for beating a player
- No constraint on when to dribble
- Celebrate positive attempts
