The UEFA materials show position-specific approaches, using the example of a wing-back with specific analytical focuses: defending 1v1, intercepting, tracking and marking, defending opponents with back to goal, tucking in, overlapping runs, driving with pace, and delivering crosses.
This systematic approach applies to all defensive positions but with different emphasis based on role.
