At the end of the day that’s a fantastic position to be in, you’d take that before the game starts.I think what’s important is how we manage the game in this situation (often called game management), how do you want your team to act when they are 2-0 up at half time? I am probably getting them anxious about it and that’s what they have at the forefront of their minds versus focusing on the principles that lead us to being up 2-0 in the first place.Crazy enough we ended winning the game 4-3 on a last second kick from half field.Thinking back I probably wasn’t emphasizing how we should/continue to play while being up 2-0. I like the idea of playing SSG’s starting with a 2-0 lead.3Reply

It’s about getting the players to focus on killing the oppositions momentum early in the half.That means winning the first header, tackle, duel, everything of the half.
