Ross Whitehead🔥 • Oct 27Our team uses 4 at the back in 9s and it is working really well for us so far. So far, in 4 league games we’ve only conceded two goals (both OGs from corners). Prior to that we were leaking goals all over the place. In our last game, we let our full backs get forward a bit more (if one went then they other stayed and they shuffled over for a back 3) and it worked a treat.2Reply

Jamie Birch🔥 • Oct 27@Ross Whitehead perfect set up mate, sounds like you’ve found the formation that suits your players. Do you have a 3 midfield and 1 striker or 2-2?1Reply

Ross Whitehead🔥 • Oct 27@Jamie Birch It really does suit our players. We play with a 2-2, but a forward is allowed to drift wide to play almost as a winger, so that we can get crosses in to the box for the other forward and the attacking midfielder. So far it seems to be working. We seem to create a lot of chances, but our conversion rate isn’t that high.1Reply

Brian Willis • Oct 27Great breakdown @Jamie Birch . My club’s game model has our 9v9 formation as 2-3-2-1and it drives me nuts because it’s really a 4-3-1. A 4-3-1 is also a lot easier for the kids to understand .1Reply

Jamie Birch🔥 • Oct 27@Brian Willis thanks mate. I think at 9v9, the simpler and more it resonates with 11v11 the better.1Reply
