Mark Wiltens • 3dI voted yes, for matches but a few years back I would say no completely. But I am not sure about it still. I still think players do not need to be motivated to come in, but may be sometimes to get everything out of theirselves. Yesterday I had a little example which is in line with this subject which got me wondering. As a U15 coach I have the team-talk about what we trained 45 minutes before kick-off and 5 minutes before kick-off a little summary + motivation.Today we played our 6th league game … See more5Reply

Brian Willis • 3d@Mark Wiltens well said Mark and I 100% think we focus too much on tactics at the youth level. Every time my team talk at halftime has made a difference, it has never been about tactics.1Reply

Kevin Middleton⭐🔥 • 2d@Mark Wiltens superb Mark, I think that you need to motivate players and find out what makes them tick. Sounds like you did that before your game.I’ve has professional players come to training in a foul mood and with low energy. It might be an issue with their contract, they might miss family, might be going through a breakup, etc. You just don’t know.Tactics won’t help them so I totally agree we focus on the wrong things sometimes.3Reply
