Jamie Birch🔥 • Oct 31Hi Dennis, I’d be looking for my 8’s to support the front three and be more of a 4-1-4-1 in possession. Out of possession one of the 8’s might need to jump to help in the press and take care of the opposition pivot and working with the striker depending on which way we’re forcing the ball.2Reply

Trevor Charlie • Oct 31Hi Dennis, When I’ve got this going at U14 my approach was to coach the 6 to shield the back 4 and told him his movement was mainly lateral as he shifted across the middle of the pitch out of possession. When the team was in possession his body position to be on the half turn as much possible, looking for the spaces to be at the top of any triangle between the full backs and and centre backs. At the bottom of any triangle for anyone of the 8’s and wingers. For the 8’s out of possession I tried to… See more4Reply

Dennis V • Oct 31@Kevin Middleton It’s probably mostly for my own safety, with a 6. So that we don’t give too much space in front of our back four. But two 8s and a 10 are also in my thoughts, if that’s the one you’re thinking of.2Reply
