Jamie Birch🔥 • Jul 13Hi Kris,What sort of numbers are you expecting?I like your idea of 3v3, maybe the parents can’t score to make it better on the kids. You could do 1v1s as well, kids vs parents. What about something like this?https://www.skool.com/coachingacademy/classroom/386a4d10?md=7f5663b0466f4d9bb52e61461d04e257The parents could be the outside players so the kids are competing against kids on the inside of the square 👍🏻0Reply

Jamie Birch🔥 • Jul 13@Kris Connolly yep a few hamstrings soon go!The link I posted could work then, 4 v 4 kids in the middle, 4 parents around the edge of the box playing for both sides in possession. If you do get 5 adults the 5th could be another magic man in the middle1Reply

It depends on the age of the kids, but these games can be so much fun and a great laugh.Just needs to make sure no one gets hurt2Reply

The 4v4+4 went down a treat, I added elements to make it silly but with reasons - parents on the outside couldn’t speak so players had to lift heads or parents said too much, asking for the ball when the pass potentially wasn’t on - testing the kids decision making. It turned out well, fun and laugh’s along the way!3Reply

Jamie Birch🔥 • Jul 18@Kris Connolly glad to hear it mate. Glad the drill worked! Like @Stephen Kavanagh says, i really like the no speaking idea. I’ve actually done that with adult teams before, just to emphasise the importance of communication, i’ve made them play for 2-3 mins in silence. The point really lands!Great work mate.0Reply

Kris Connolly • Jul 23@Stephen Kavanagh Worked well. We did something similar with my rugby team as we had a deaf player & he was in a channel 4 doc so wanted to show how we can communicate without our voice but also how difficult it can be when we don’t talk.3Reply

Kris Connolly • Jul 30@Kevin Middleton yeah, I believe there is so much that can be crossed over. Especially when it comes to working as a team or creating a better understanding between each other.I have seen lots of things in my rugby days which I believe I can transfer to football coaching & probably other sports too.I find it interesting that people think “Ah that’s a different shaped ball, it won’t work”2Reply

Jamie Birch🔥 • Jul 25That sort of thinking is refreshing and really interesting Kris, there must be so much cross over from other sports that don’t get considered.2Reply
