Ross Whitehead🔥 • Oct 18We played last night under the floodlights in a local derby match. It was our first gamein a couple of weeks due to postponements. We started brightly enough, but the forwards were very static, and that lack of movement meant that we didn’t really create much. Then the opposition started to come into the game and rather than being pro-active we were reactive. We conceded a poor goal when their shot hit the bar, bounced straight back down into our keepers arms but he fumbled it into the net 🤦‍♂️W… See more3Reply

Jamie Birch🔥 • Oct 18@Ross Whitehead what a special night under the lights. Those draws feel like a win for you and a loss for the opposition. Great momentum and good feeling to go into training with and next weeks game. Shows real character that, you don’t have it all your own way every game. Brilliant mate well done!1Reply

About 75% of the team have been in Köln the last few days and are due back at midnight so anything is a bonus tomorrow. They did get some football in while away at the Football Museum (played on the roof top) and they did a stadium tour at the Bayer Arena.3Reply

A trip like that can pay dividends sometimes as they have been bonding outside of the normal time they spend with each other, brings the group together1Reply

Whilst we lost it was fairly even and were holding our own. The only goal was a deflected free kick in off the wall… 🤷 Players worked their socks off and as Manager/Coaching team we were proud of the boys….Then I had an hour as a parent watching my daughter play (my wife manages her team) in her League Cup. Team won & my daughter scored a … See more4Reply

I try not to be in coaching mode and just let them soak up the game and have fun.In the evening I will be planning my session for tomorrows practice. Our team plays our second game of the season on Tuesday and then we have another game on Thursday.3Reply

Continuing to work on the skills for being an effective coach of girls, not just an effective coach. If that makes sense.2Reply

We’ve been practicing 3v4 in front of goal a lot to work on our passing and off the ball movement in these situations. They’ve shown improvement in training, hoping we see the same in the match today.2Reply

Unfortunately, we failed to capitalize on many chances to decide the game. But it was another step forward in the development of each individual player.4Reply

Our attacking play was sloppy, a lot of bad passing or just kicking it down the field and hoping someone got on the end of it. It was because of a combination of poor decision making and defensive pressure.2Reply
