Nicolas Andrews-Gauvain • Oct 16Just catching up with this….. Had a positive but equally frustrating weekend - great that we drew our first league game (month behind other teams due to PP/teams folding) of the season which is really positive as we are rebuilding the team after the manager/all the players bar 2 walked away 2 seasons ago. However, it was so frustrating as we deserved to win - should have been 4 or 5 to the good by half time!! Lots of positives to reinforce in training mind….2Reply

Ross Whitehead🔥 • Oct 11Another weekend in the wilderness of no match for me. Our fixture got postponed as our opposition have a cup game. To be honest, it suits us as we have a couple of injuries and we were struggling for numbers. So I’ve got DIY, dog walking and personal grooming (shave and a haircut) lined up for today!3Reply

Jamie Birch🔥 • Oct 11@Ross Whitehead ah nightmare mate, I thought you’d be back at it this weekend. Like today not the worst if you have injuries to deal with. Back at it with a bang next week then!1Reply

Ross Whitehead🔥 • Oct 11@Jamie Birch we would have preferred a game, then all the fit players would have got lots of minutes. We tried for a friendly, but the only slot we could get was Sunday 9am KO, a lot of the parents said no to that! 🤣1Reply

Stephen Kavanagh • Oct 11Away league game for us and our Kryptonite - a bigger, more physical, more aggressive team that we’ve struggled against in the past. So will be hoping to continue our progress with @Jamie Birch ‘s “impact the game” team talk. We had a clean sheet last week which is a minor miracle and a good sign that the defensive work we’ve done has paid off. Fingers crossed. Always a bit of an odd weekend when no elite league football on a Saturday. But there is a big derby for Portsmouth women tomorrow which I will watch from behind the sofa given how weve been playing.2Reply

Jamie Birch🔥 • Oct 11@Stephen Kavanagh good luck! You’re right, the players getting into the game physically, as early as possible is really important. It sets the tone for your team and the opposition who will realise quickly they can’t walk over you and bully you. Good luck again, let us know how you do!1Reply
