Sean McMahon • Aug 14Very tricky. The blues are very aggressive and quick to close down as a unit and seem to overload central areas quite a bit. Rest defence is always 3 back. 2 forwards stay high a lot and often like moving into wide areas to create overloads here too. Lots of rotation from up high into central areas too. Think their formation IP is a 4-3-1-2 but easily changes into an 3-5-2 and OP is a 4-4-2 and a 4-1-4-1? I could be very wrong here tho 😂2Reply

Emrah Yalpur • Aug 14Maybe I am wrong, but in posession they are playing 4-3-3 with 2 attacking wing backs? Out of posession they fall into 4-4-2 or 4-5-1?1Reply

Ross Whitehead🔥 • Aug 15Looks like it might be a 3-4-3 in possession, and 4-5-1 out of possession. It’s all very fluid in that clip!1Reply

Kevin Middleton⭐🔥 • Aug 15@Ross Whitehead In possession, the key is to watch what happens when the ball is worked from one side to the other1Reply

Ross Whitehead🔥 • Aug 15From about 11 or 12 seconds in the clip I can see when the ball gets switched, the full back on the far side (who was previously wide and high) drops in as the other on the near side has peeled wide to receive the ball, so they always have 3 at the back.At 34 seconds you can see they have a flat back 4 as they reset after they concede the free-kick. It looks like 4-5-1 at 36 seconds when the opposition are attacking.1Reply

Jordi Garcia • Aug 15I would say in possession this team’s right back likes to go high and almost allow there to be a back 3. I would also say that this team is very dynamic, as players almost swap positions when looking to penetrate. As for out of possession it appears that goes back to a back 4.1Reply

Kevin Middleton⭐🔥 • Aug 15@Jordi Garcia @Jordi Garcia This is good analysis Jordi. They always maintain a back three. Whether it’s one full back goes and the other sits. And if the ball is switched out to the other side, the other full back goes and the opposite full back has to tuck in.The double pivot also needs to be maintained. I would love to see the stats on this team’s recycle of possession.1Reply
