Kevin Middleton⭐🔥 • Aug 5Hi Ross, so the Game Model is tiered by mastery levels because that probably suits players better than age. However, any model becomes difficult when you have players at different stages within the same team. So, I would say that small-sided games are probably the quickest way to get everyone up to speed. That way, you can place players of equal ability in different small-sided games, so that players at different stages are facing each other and they’re getting more touches of the ball and progre… See morejygzC0pVVgHyJhCuQrjh.pdfPDF • 12mb1Reply

I’ve found that the best thing to do is (a) set the new, inexperienced kids ball mastery at home; (b) play a lot of SSG’s. We’ve used Scoreboard soccer and played more Funino than you can shake a stick at. We have always had a lot at training so can run at least 2 pitches of 3v3. With funny numbers it still works as we did 3 +1 sub and the sub comes on any time a goal is scored, regardless of which team scores it. We… See more3Reply

Ross Whitehead🔥 • Aug 6@Stephen Kavanagh Thanks Stephen! I wasn’t aware of Funino, but I’m looking into it now. Do you think it is still appropriate for kids aged 9/10/11?2Reply

Link. It is out of print so you’d need a library or to search around a bit (unless you want to pay £146 for it!!). To be honest you get the basics from that link anyway.2Reply

So the stronger team cannot ease up. We did an invitation tournament and mixed up our U11 girls with U9.boys and an aligned local team (who brought Magnums!). One of the best things we’ve done. Draws were sorted with Whano (a full body Rock-Paper-Scissors).2Reply
