Ross Whitehead🔥 • Aug 31Good in theory, but in practice it’s only as good as the people operating it. So basically it all comes down to the standard of referees. IMO the standard of refereeing has got worse now that VAR has been implemented. Officials don’t want to make decisions in case they get over-ruled, or they just abdicate responsibility to the VAR. It’s a mess!2Reply

The Fulham goal yesterday was a great example where the referee could have stuck to his decision. If you’ve played you know that sometimes someone will stand on you by accident, it’s not necessarily a foul. It’s a fast moving game.3Reply

Michael Brown • Aug 31For me the referees involved with the games that have VAR are second guessing their decisions. Even when they have waved play on they get called back and that then makes them doubt their next decisions. Look at the Scottish teams in Europe with VAR. Changed the game for Aberdeen at a point they were putting up a good showing.I also get also worried that referees are becoming lazy on their application as they trust it will get caught with the VAR.The use of stills on the monitors too need to be b… See more3Reply

The two Slovakia goals that got ruled out were right, but the VAR didn’t rule out the 3rd for a foul on the defender. So in one game VAR was great and useless all at the same time! 😄2Reply

Kevin Middleton⭐🔥 • 18d@Brian Willis this would be better in my opinion. But it would only be used on goals and major decisions like red cards, and it would take the emotion out of goals scored as every one would be challenged1Reply

Ross Whitehead🔥 • 15d (edited)Over the two games in the international break, VAR was quite kind to Northern Ireland. It disallowed two Slovakia goals in the first game, and gave a penalty last night v Luxembourg. I’d rather they saved up the good will for the play-offs in March!3Reply
