Ross Whitehead🔥 • 25dI could help go through this. At the moment, we are lucky - we seem to have a good group of parents who know we’re trying to do our best for the kids. This time last year we had a few troublemakers, but they all left at the start of the year following a change in head coach.2Reply

Stephen Kavanagh • 25dI’ve been lucky (and some hardwork/engineering) and am reminded every now and then that it might be different if I took a new team on. Just last night watching some U9, U12 and U18 from other clubs the totally different dynamics between parents and kids and coaches. I will be looking thru this resource, but I probably am not best placed to test drive it.2Reply

Ross Whitehead🔥 • 24d@Kevin Middleton Yes, I think it is useful. We are fortunate that most of our parents are very good and very supportive. There are a couple that we might need to have a quiet word with about sideline coaching.2Reply

Chris Unruh • 18dThis course is fantastic. Amongst the most useful info I will have taken from this site along with how to analyze play. Will definitely integrate it into a future season. This is the kind of stuff I love- extremely valuable skills for coaches to have that are not covered in diploma or certificate courses. Not being able to handle parents keeps so many coaches up at night.Makes me wonder what other gaps there are similar to this in our coaching world that can be addressed. I am fortunate in that … See more4Reply

Chris Unruh • 17dI think something that could be delivered to parents would be incredibly helpful. So this is the coaches portion but the truth is I believe all coaches will buy in to this but truly what we need is parent buy in to make a change or watching up best. Also some sort of system for a monthly check in or update for communication with them2Reply

Kevin Middleton⭐🔥 • 17d@Chris Unruh Hi Chris,I know you are not asking this question or for this feature, but we could deliver a recorded presentation to parents as part of the club licence.I think this would have benefits as it would be a neutral party doing so.I think that would be better than any course parents need to do.Monthly accountability would need to be on the clubs, but it is a great idea1Reply

Ross Whitehead🔥 • 16d@Chris Unruh @Kevin Middleton Parents don’t realise what is involved with coaching a team. The hours spent on session prep, picking teams, tactics, trying to figure out fair game time, the sleepless nights after a game doesn’t go well etc.We all have our day jobs to fit the above around. We’re only human and we go to training and we might have had a bad day or we’re dealing with kids that might have had a bad day. Some parents would benefit from seeing what it’s like from the inside. They would u… See more3Reply
