I didn't start in professional football. I started exactly where you probably are now.
In 2010, I was coaching kids on a muddy pitch in Scotland, planning sessions on Sunday nights, copying drills from wherever I could find them. I made every mistake in the book. My sessions looked good on paper but fell apart with real players. The skills we practised never showed up on match day.
I spent years figuring out what actually works. Through running two academies, coaching at Arbroath FC, and working with over 1,000 players, I developed a system that bridges the gap between training and matches.
Here's what I learned: the same principles that develop professional players work at grassroots. The difference isn't complexity. It's having a system that connects everything together.
